Why are there regulations for running a tanning facility?

There are several reasons to regulate the use and facilitation of tanning beds. The state regulation and use of said facilities helps maintain safe conditions such as Sanitary Conditions and Bed/Bulb Construction.

What do the regulations entail?

Each tanning facility is required to be permitted and inspected yearly. A permit must be posted at each regulated facility with a current date. A permit must be posted at each regulated facility with a current date.

What kinds of things are required in the regulations?

Many of the requirements are sanitation related. Some of the regulations mandate that each facility will provide towels that are either disposable or are laundered after every use and that each surface is disinfected after every use.
