Douglas County Medical Reserve Corps

Are you community minded? Interested in helping your neighbors? Want to make connections with others? Want to enhance local emergency response efforts? Then our volunteer organization MRC is for you!

Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a community-based and function as a way to locally organize and utilize volunteers who want to donate their time and expertise to prepare for and respond to emergencies and promote healthy living throughout the year. MRC volunteers step up to keep their family, friends, and neighbors safe and healthy.

MRC volunteers supplement existing emergency and public health resources. The overarching goal is to improve health literacy, and in support of this, work towards increasing disease prevention, eliminating health disparities, and improving public health preparedness. A medical background is not needed. We welcome any volunteers in this group, as any skill is helpful during an emergency. Time commitment is typically one hour per month. Any training that you need is provided.

Interested? Reach out! We’d love to have you.
